Transportation FAQs

Hello! We have gathered some frequently asked questions to help you understand our who, what, when, where, and why's. We are here to serve you and work diligently to accommodate transportation for students to be transported safely and timely to and from school.

  • Q: My stop is too far from my home, the bus passes right by my house, can the bus stop closer?
    A: We try to reduce the amount of stops the bus has to make to ensure the students get to school on time.
    • District guideline for walking distances to-from bus stop is as follows (under most circumstances, excludes hazardous roadways):
      • Elementary: .25 miles
      • Middle School: .5 miles
      • High School: .5 miles
  • Q: I registered my student at school/skyward, however, my child does not have a bus yet.
    A: After registering/updating skyward, please contact the transportation department to set up bus ridership.

  • Q: Can my child ride a different bus to go to my cousins/friends house?
    A: There are 3 places that a student can be transported to within the CBISD attendance zones, the addresses must be added and approved by a transportation official prior to transportation adjustments.
    • Permanent Residence
    • Grandparents
    • Licensed Daycare
  • Q: I moved and my address changed, my child needs transportation.
    A: Please login to skyward or visit your child's campus and update the information, once the changes have been made it will take 3-5 days for bus transportation to be assigned.
